Faustino VII Rioja DOC 2004, Spain and Inniskillin Pinot Noir 2000, Canada

Faustino VII Rioja DOC 2004

Inniskillin Pinot Noir 2000

Not too many chance for me to taste wine from Spain and Canada, and these two were opened at the same time in an “accidental” occasion.

Faustino VII Rioja DOC 2004

Very young wine, with deep purple colour. Red fruit, earth and oak were reflected in nose while excessive woodiness was detected on palate, very rough. After half day rest, her fruitiness unexpectedly increased. But personally I really don’t know how to appreciate the soil taste.

Inniskillin Pinot Noir 2000

The ice wine from Canada is always one of my favourites, but the Pinot Noir would never be. Not too much was noted when opened, and after 15 minutes, strong vegetal (cabbage) appeared, but red fruit was not that apparent. Combined with the damp wood and wet leaves, she will never be my love.
